POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Production Planner & Scheduler
Reports To: Operations Manager
Summary: The Production Planner & Scheduler is responsible for planning and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize company's productive capacity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Plans and manages production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize company's productive capacity;
· Continue to improve effective scheduling process to achieve production objectives using capacity planning tools;
· Analyzes sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements;
· Manages inventory levels, schedules and availability of selected item, either manufactured, purchased to meet production schedules, provides input during sales order reviews;
· Respond to termination or cancellation requests from Sales;
· Reviews in process orders from production floor;
· Receives and reviews sales orders against current requirements and work in process using Fishbowl
· Interfaces with manufacturing personnel and supervisors on material status and production planning issues;
· Cycle counts materials to ensure inventory accuracy;
· Reviews master production schedule and work orders;
· Establish and adjust priorities for specific customer orders;
· Releases work orders to departments via FishBowl denoting number, type, and proposed completion date of units to be produced.
· Revises schedule according to work order specifications, established priorities, and availability or capability of workers, materials, and equipment;
· Provides support to Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Manager and Company Management as required;
· Establishes work order start dates and communicates adjustments to Sales Admin, Program Managers and Production personnel as needed;
· Update late delivery report with Root Cause-weekly

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education and/or ExperienceAssociate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; at least one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills: Strong math and statistic skills
Reasoning Ability: To solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge MS Office specifically Excel. Familiarity with ERP and MRP systems.
