Adecco Creative and Marketing partnered with a bakery manufacturer to hire two production planners (Newark, NJ and Clifton, NJ).

Summary:

Develops master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders per quality standards. Ensures Finished Goods are produced on time for distribution in a profitable manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Coordinating production workflow for one or multiple production lines.
  • Planning and prioritizing operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
  • Receives customer forecast from Sales and translates requirements in to production runs-
  • Collaborates with department supervisors to check on progress of production on regular basis to make sure the products are made as per the schedule.
  • Performs the batch closing process for open work orders.
  • Monitor and adjust operations that could impact and create any delays in schedules.
  • Plans Finished Goods inventory to avoid shortages and excess inventory.
  • Develops and owns the production scheduling processes to ensure we meet customer required dates.
  • Develops a production schedule detailing all tasks and when they should be completed by to meet predicted completion date.
  • Responsible to ensure the Bill of Materials is updated and accurate. (Need to review the change specification form).
  • Coordinates with procurement to ensure raw material availability.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining all planning data within the system.
  • Determines capacity, production line, standard labor requirements, and raw materials needed to cover production demand.
  • Reviews supply and demand data to determine ideal inventory levels to achieve customer demand and safety stock levels.
  • Plan with Innovation team for new product development and implementation.
  • Coordinate with Sales and Logistics teams to adjust shipping dates, order quantities, and lead-time as needed.
  • Coordinate activities with QA/Sanitation on specific tasks.
  • Defines problems, determine the root cause, and facilitates process improvements to put corrective actions in place.
  • Supports all established plant and departmental goals and objectives.
  • Develops and maintains procedures to support the supply chain group.
  • Planner must be accessible when production scheduling adjustments or guidelines are needed especially during the overnight hours since we are 24-7 operations.

  • Qualifications:

    • College degree and/or equivalent work experience
    • Requires minimum of 3 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
    • Proven experience as production planner
    • Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles
    • Good at math and statistics
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication abilities
    • Experience in MRP II (Manufacturing resource planning)
    • Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems
    • Experience using operations metrics to develop reports, improve processes, and create production standards

    This is a W2 position.
