The Production Manager of the Hot Line is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the hot rolling mill operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective production of high-quality aluminum alloy products. This role requires a strategic leader with deep technical expertise in rolling mill processes, strong people management skills, and a continuous improvement

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the Hot Line Rolling Mill
- Ensure production targets are met in terms of volume, quality, and efficiency
- Monitor and optimize key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, uptime, throughput, and energy consumption
- Champion a strong safety culture; ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
- Ensure environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives are followed
- Provide support to organization of 25 salary employees and approximately 140 hourly employees
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of supervisors, engineers, and operators
- Drive engagement, accountability, and performance through effective communication and leadership
- Support workforce planning, training, and succession development
- Develop and manage annual budgets for the Hot Line area, including labor, materials, and capital expenditures.
- Contribute to long-term strategic planning for capacity expansion, technology upgrades, and process innovation
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime
- Partner with supply chain, planning, maintenance, engineering, and Human Resources to align operations with business goals
- Provide regular reports on production, safety, quality, and financial performance to senior leadership. · Utilize data analytics to drive decision-making and performance improvements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with minimum of 10 years' experience in rolling mill, required
- Extensive aluminum industry experience could be considered in lieu of a degree
- Strong knowledge of hot rolling mill equipment, process control, and metallurgy, required
- Proven track record in safety leadership, team development, and operational excellence, required
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, required
- Proficiency in manufacturing systems and data analytics tools (SAP, Excel), strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of production and maintenance functions in rolling operations, required
- Experience fostering a culture of safety and ensuring compliance with all EH&S regulations and company policies, required
