Purpose of Position

The Production Manager oversees all aspects of manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient production processes and high-quality output. The function leads and motivates production teams, manages personnel, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to optimize performance. Collaborating with other departments, the position coordinates activities, maintains compliance with regulations, and fosters a safe work environment. With a focus on productivity and quality, the Production Execution Manager plays a pivotal role in achieving organizational goals and sustaining operational excellence.

Main tasks:

1. Personnel Management:

  • Organize, direct, and oversee schedules and work of production execution employees.
  • Hire, train, and provide leadership for production staff.
  • Develop personnel development plans, conduct performance reviews, and handle disciplinary actions.

2. Manufacturing Engineering

  • Lead manufacturing engineering team
  • Manage creation and maintenance of assembly fixtures and infrastructure.
  • Support Machine Shop with equipment and tooling requirements
  • Review change requests from R&D department for technical feasibility
  • Provide technical guidance to assembly staff.

3. Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Lead manufacturing engineering, machine shop, and assembly teams.
  • Collaborate with other managers and supervisors to coordinate activities across departments.

4. Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify and correct problems and inefficiencies in processes, materials, equipment, or skills.

5. Quality Management:

  • Manage inspection and evaluation of products for quality and defects.
  • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and safety guidelines.

6. Safety and Compliance:

  • Develop and implement procedures and strategies for a safe work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational regulations.

7. Budgeting and Resource Management:

  • Manage skills and capacity to meet production requirements.
  • Assist in development and execution of departmental budget.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Experience in machining preferred.
  • CAD experience create CAD models/fixtures.
  • Ability to read schematic diagrams.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Strong leadership and personnel management skills with the ability to hire, train, and motivate teams effectively.
  • Solid understanding of production processes, quality control standards, and safety regulations.
  • Experience in implementing and driving continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, resource allocation, and cost management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address operational challenges.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP
  • Physical requirements: Ability to lift 25 pounds unassisted, Ability to operate machinery, Ability to sit, stand and move about to accomplish tasks, Ability to work on Computers, and the Ability to visually inspect products and machinery accurately.
