The Production Team is a matrix organization within Beyond Meat that is dedicated to creating food products that are leading the gold standard in plant-based proteins. They are looking for an outstanding individual to join the team located in Devault, PA as a Production Manager.

The Production Manager works closely with the plant management team in maintaining sound and efficient operations of the production lines and staff while keeping food safety as a priority. The team-oriented Production Manager leads and is responsible for deliverables including production goals, schedule, and staffing changes, and making high-impact operations decisions when issues arise .

TASKS, DUTIES, & GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the production personnel within the plant(s) .

  • Responsible for manufacturing and maintaining safe, quality food by following good manufacturing practices, food defense, HACCP and SQF requirements.

  • Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and promoting cooperation within and between departments.

  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.

  • Manage constraints to maximize OEE,

  • Lead cross functional meetings focused on improving performance in safety, quality, throughput and cost.

  • Required to provide all external auditors with needed materials and information, follow-up via written responses where applicable and coordinate supplemental plant visits.

  • Implement and oversee Company sanitation program and related procedures for pre-production, production and shutdown periods.

  • Monitor day to day manufacturing for SOP execution, assisting the operation with any required support.

  • Ensure proper training and development of the production employees to improve factory performance.

  • Ability to travel between facilities and/or off-site storage sites.

  • Communicate with outside vendors and/or supplies .

  • Work with engineering and maintenance on a daily basis.

  • Performs other duties, as assigned, and follows through on requests in a timely manner

Supervisory Duties

  • Lead, manage, and supervise production employees, delegate training for all processes within the production area setting.

  • Provide mentorship and training to functional team members

  • Accountable for developing talent through on-going performance feedback and career management coaching.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Technical Skills, and/or Previous Experience:

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Food Science, Business or Engineering (Process, Mechanical or Industrial), or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered.

  • Must have significant food manufacturing experience, familiar with Food Safety, GMP and SOP's .

  • Minimum 7-10 years' experience in a food and/or beverage manufacturing environment.

Other qualifications:

  • Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus, not a requirement

  • Leadership skills, focused on results, employees' engagement, development, decision making, teamwork and change management

  • The employee must have the ability to quantitatively review technical procedures and representative regulations. In addition, must be capable of writing detailed reports, and general day-to-day oversight and related correspondence.

  • The ability to effectively present information to groups and respond to questions from peers, supervisors and managers

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Strong PC skills includes MS office programs

  • Preferred TPM or LEAN manufacturing knowledge.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Warehouse and production manufacturing environment that includes both tempered and ambient areas .

  • Position requires the ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods, step, balance, crouch, stoop, kneel, squat, bend, occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs., reach above shoulders, or as needed to complete tasks.

  • Must be able to occasionally climb stairs or a ladder to complete tasks

  • Position located in a mix of production and office environments and requires a tolerance for consistent cold work environments (-10-40˚ F), high worker traffic, loud noises, odors, dust, and varying room temperatures.

  • This position will be required to visit the production floor, refrigerated and frozen storage, and warehouses.

  • Work flexible shifts as required .

  • Understand that overtime and occasional weekends and/or worked holidays will be required based on company needs.

**Annual salary commensurate with experience**The starting annual base pay for this role is starting at USD $100,000. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for bonus and benefits.
