Production Janitor - Healthcare Linen Services Group : Job Details

PURPOSE: To maintain the cleanliness of the entire plant inside and outside. JOB SUMMARY: Maintains the cleanliness of the plant, outside parking lot and grounds around the building. Keeps the entire facility as lint free and clean as possible. Empties waste receptacles and recycles plastic bags in soil sort. Follows standard operating procedures. Must meet quality standards. What you must do as a Custodian/Janitor: Maintain and clean all floor surfaces, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, to prevent damage to floors and other objects Clean, monitor and maintain restrooms, production areas, offices, break rooms, and other parts of the facilities. Empty trash cans for proper disposal; use of compactor for certain materials Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors, using appropriate cleaners and equipment Spot clean carpets; assist in carpet extractions and shampooing Replenish paper products and sanitary supplies as well as production supplies. Follow housekeeping schedule Occasionally use heavy cleaning equipment, such as floor scrubbers, backpack vacuums and buffers. Blow down production equipment. Operate forklift to unload and load trucks. Replacement of light bulbs and batteries as needed. Other duties as assigned, as required. Qualifications/Requirements Custodial experience is preferred. Punctuality and reliability is a must. Honesty and exceptional work ethic. Ability to solve problems independently. Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions while using appropriate behavior and language. High School diploma/GED equivalent required. Must be 18 years of age or older. Special Boilers Operator License Preferred, not required. Physical Demands Continual standing and walking during shift. Continual reaching with hands/fingers/arms during shift. Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling and crouching during shift. Must be able to occasionally lift over 80 pounds. Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals.
