As we continue to grow, we're looking for a consistent, organized, hard-working, and self-motivated Production Director to serve as a key member of the senior leadership team and be responsible for the strategic oversight and operational management of all Production departments, including Project Management, Drafting, and Fabrication.
Position Overview:
The Production Director is a forward-thinking leader with demonstrated expertise in planning, execution, team development, quality assurance, and workplace safety. The Director ensures that all projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction. This individual plays a critical role in optimizing the company's production capacity, assignment of projects, and contributes significantly to overall profitability and growth. Success in this position requires exceptional leadership, a deep understanding of production and fabrication processes, and the ability to drive operational excellence in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Position Responsibilities include:
- Manages the development and maintenance of a comprehensive Production Schedule, integrating inputs from all production departments to provide a real-time overview of current and future workload.
- Collaborates with Project Manager and Account Manager teams to review production capacity, forecast high-volume periods, and mitigate risk through proactive planning.
- Work with Project Managers to develop accurate time frames and build periods proactively for more consistent results.
- Provides oversight and support to the Head of Project Management to ensure projects are executed efficiently, profitably, and in alignment with client expectations.
- Support the Head of Project Management with project assignments based on workload distribution, complexity, and strategic alignment.
- Facilitates build strategy meetings, ensuring alignment across all production departments on execution plans, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Conducts regular performance reviews with Production Department Managers to identify bottlenecks, improve processes, provide ongoing training, and optimize project outcomes.
- Oversees Fabrication operations, ensuring projects are built to spec, meet quality benchmarks, and are delivered on time and within budget.
- Partner with the Systems Director to evaluate and improve production systems, tools, and train the production team on new processes.
- Holds Production Department Managers accountable for quality, on-time delivery, and operational excellence, driving a culture of continuous improvement..
- Monitor production-related costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors, to ensure profitability targets are met.
- Analyze labor and overhead expenditures across departments; recommend adjustments to improve cost efficiency and margin performance.
- Provide monthly and quarterly reporting on production financial performance, contributing to broader company P&L statements.
Position Requirements:
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop multi-level teams within a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Exceptional skills in managing multiple complex projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively with multiple levels of the organization while maintaining a culture of positivity and continuous improvement.
- Excellent organizational skills through up-to-date scheduling, forecasting capacity, managing timelines, and aligning resources with business objectives.
- Strong understanding of all methods of fabrication and the timing it takes to execute.
- Ability to interpret labor, cost, and efficiency data to make informed operational decisions.
- Quick to identify production challenges and implement scalable, process-driven solutions.
- Manages multiple complex projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines.
- Ensure teams are held to high standards in craftsmanship, safety, and professionalism.
What We Offer:
Position Type: Full Time
Starting Compensation: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00/year
