Overview

OPPORTUNITY: Graphic Packaging International is a Foodservice cup forming manufacturing operation seeking candidates to join our Clarksville, TN team. This job posting is for a Salary Exempt Production Control Manager.

Job Summary

The Production Control Manager role has overall responsibility for the planning, coordination, and control of manufacturing product flow. He/she ensures the correct amount of goods and services are produced timely, efficiently, at the right cost and quality level. The scope includes order planning, customer service, production coordination, shipment forecast and planning. This position is also responsible for materials management, shipping and receiving. Work device: Computer hardware and software.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and control manufacturing product flow to meet production targets, quality standards, and cost objectives.
  • Manage order planning, customer service, production coordination, and shipment forecasting and planning.
  • Oversee materials management, shipping and receiving.
  • Supervise the Production Control and Material Management team (5 direct reports).
  • Schedule finished goods and work in process; communicate with sales and customer service on issues or opportunities.
  • Assist in development and execution of plant budgets; work with Demand Planning to determine capacity issues on new business.
  • Manage the creation of bills of materials for finished goods and track forecast variances.
  • Evaluate machine utilization to determine the most cost-effective scheduling process; identify bottlenecks and capacity constraints.
  • Develop plans and coordinate materials for new products; ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards; partner with HSE as needed.
  • Provide guidance to direct reports on performance, training, and issue resolution; administer company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate key issues up and down the organization (performance reviews, safety meetings, overtime plans, monthly results, etc.).
  • Support continuous improvement, waste reduction, and throughput optimization efforts.
  • Ensure achievement of safety, quality, and productivity goals; monitor budgets and resource allocation.
  • Manage purchasing and inventory for raw materials, parts, and supplies; ensure compliance with corporate purchasing agreements and policies; develop and source new suppliers as needed; implement cost reductions.
  • Foster employee engagement and maintain a culture of listening, accountability, and recognition; handle difficult problems and disputes with management support.
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting of data to support decision-making.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree (Production Management, Business Administration, or related field) strongly preferred; closely related work experience required in lieu of degree.
  • Experience/Skills: 5-7 years of progressive work experience in production control, purchasing and/or material management within a complex manufacturing environment; cup making or paper converting experience preferred; 5-7 years of supervisory experience; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong time management, multi-tasking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities; proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP/QAD; high integrity and ability to work independently; ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Physical Demands: Sitting, walking, or standing for up to 8 hours; occasional lifting up to 20 lbs; reading screens; use of office equipment and PPE as required; exposure to varying temperatures; overtime and variable shifts including weekends.
  • Schedule Demands: Typical 8-hour M-F schedule with willingness to work alternate schedules, early mornings, nights, weekends; occasional travel.
  • Key Competencies: Planning, prioritization, process management, teamwork, integrity, ethics, decision making, and leadership.
  • Training: On-the-job training provided by experienced Production Control personnel.
  • Supervisor Requirements: Supervision of Production Control and Material Management team; collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, QA, and other departments.
Pay Range

$81,675.00 – $108,900.00
