Base pay range

$100,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

If you are looking for a long-term career with a great team, we want to talk to you.The Product Owner – Software role is a multidisciplinary position with a primary objective of ensuring software needs are accurately collected and documented so that the development organization can successfully deliver on these business needs.The position will work closely with software development team members as well as product management, field operations, and external customers. The person must have excellent communication skills and excellent attention to detail. He or she will play a key part in understanding the company's vision and breaking this down in deliverable requirements that can be documented and well understood by the development and QA teams.The individual will also serve as an escalation point for the support team, understanding, prioritizing, and reviewing pain points and enhancement requests from end users. Working alongside product management and other senior leadership team members, the position will provide reports on progress, potentials risks, and help brainstorm mitigation strategies to maintain the existing roadmap and customer obligations that bring value to the business.Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain prioritize product backlog align with company's overall roadmap
  • Thoroughly document specifications for new enhancements in a standardized way that can be easily understood by development, QA, and other stakeholders
  • Coordinate with team members to break down requirements into small, concise stories that can be delivered within one sprint, and that still bring business value
  • Lead sprint pre-grooming and planning activities within the team
  • Assist with triaging bugs and issues
  • Prioritize bugs and enhancement requests based on value proposition as compared to competing requests
  • Operationalize new ideas
  • Understand team's dynamics and assist team leads to maximize team output and delivery
  • Attend and actively participate in all agile ceremonies, including daily calls
  • Engage with end users to observe usage patterns, pain points, and opportunities for improvement
  • Brainstorm with team leads for solutions to overcome pain points and improve user experience
  • Regularly test software and provide feedback to development, QA, and other team members to ensure products meet customer expectations
  • Focus on bringing incremental value to customers
Knowledge, Skills, And Experience
  • In-depth knowledge of SCRUM / Agile software development framework with firsthand experience preferred
  • Knowledge of natural gas leak detection, or demonstrated ability to quick learn new industries
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication / presentation skills
  • Sharp problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage conflicting needs of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and document complex requirements
  • Understanding of business value as it relates for features and ability to quickly perform cost benefit analysis in order to properly prioritize new requests
  • Experience working with software development tools such as Azure DevOps (preferred), or JIRA
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing market needs, as well as lead others to see value in the change
  • Ability to foster an atmosphere of creativity and collaboration
