Our team of writers, designers, visual artists, product managers, and engineers are deeply experienced in mobile storytelling and educational content. Our CEO, Daniel Terry, previously founded and led Pocket Gems and Episode Interactive, leading mobile companies which have reached 300 million users, raised over $150 million from Sequoia and Tencent, and collectively generated over $1 billion in revenue.

This Role

Were looking for an experienced Product Manager who will own development of new features and improvements for our popular app, used by millions of learners. Youll work closely with growth, designers, and engineers to launch product improvements that help us grow, monetize, and deliver a world-class learning experience.

The role reports to the Lead Product Manager. This is a hybrid role, requiring about three days each week in our New York office.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the CEO & product team to set company goals, define the product roadmap, and scope new features and experiments
  • Drive product tests & features through their entire cycle from ideation to release and iteration
  • Own the product vision and strategy for areas like acquisition and onboarding
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative research to discover new opportunities
  • Partner with cross functional partners including growth, design, engineering, and others to bring your roadmap to life

About You

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of product management experience
  • Youre incredibly analytical and have hands-on experience with using data (e.g. Tableau, Looker, Mixpanel or similar) to make strategic decisions
  • Youre an exceptional written and verbal communicate who can work across a distributed team
  • You work with designers, engineers and other cross-functional partners to regularly ship features & tests
  • Youre results-oriented and will do whatever it takes to make each project a success
  • You love learning and nonfiction reading, and have great intuition for consumer products in this space
Nice-to-have:
  • Experience in growth or acquisition related roles
  • Experience in consumer apps, mobile gaming, media, subscription products or educational products
  • Hands-on experience with design & user research
  • A degree in a technical field

Compensation for this role includes a very substantial equity package. The target salary range for this position is $130,000 - 195,000. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. This range may be modified in the future.
