Summary:The Product Manager is responsible for driving sales growth through strategic product promotion, new product introductions, and comprehensive training for both employees and customers. This role plays a key part in enhancing customer experience and increasing program visibility, recognizing that excellence in service and targeted promotion are essential to success. The Product Manager collaborates closely with sales leadership and Territory Managers to engage with customers, while proactively monitoring and responding to shifts in the competitive landscape.

Job DutiesLeadership & Staff Management

  • Sets a professional example in all forms of communication.
  • Conducts regular check-ins to provide feedback, coaching, and performance reviews.
  • Recognizes and rewards strong performance and adherence to company goals.
  • Enforces company policies on dress code, attendance, professionalism, and productivity in partnership with HR and supervisors.
Customer Interaction
  • Maintains strong business relationships and delivers prompt, professional service across all channels.
  • Ensures timely and effective resolution or escalation of customer issues.
  • Maintains professional communication with both customers and vendors.
  • Appropriately escalates customer concerns to internal teams.
Products
  • Collaborates with teams to evaluate and manage product inventory.
  • Leads training programs for internal teams on Rheem/Ruud commercial products and accessories.
  • Contributes to sales forecasting and competitive market analysis.
  • Partners with marketing to promote Rheem/Ruud products and ensure product knowledge.
  • Meets sales goals for both new and existing accounts.
  • Participates in the development and execution of annual sales plans.
  • Supports customer education through product and technical training.
  • Conducts in-person contractor or dealer visits weekly.
  • Manages sales incentive programs and evaluates sales performance reports.
  • Engages in vendor marketing programs and contributes to brand-specific strategies.
  • Supports annual competitive pricing analysis and vendor review.
  • Oversees special or bulk pricing decisions based on customer needs.
Decision Making and Problem Solving
  • Gathers necessary information to resolve issues using sound judgment.
  • Takes proactive measures to prevent problems and responds urgently when they arise.
  • Makes informed, decisive actions when necessary.
Administrative
  • Demonstrates organization, discipline and follow through of administrative functions.
  • Safeguards the release of proprietary information, company documents and other confidential data and information.
  • Submits complete and accurate mileage and expense reports on time.
  • Completes weekly CRM reports with valuable information regarding weekly events.
Marketing
  • Presents Rheem/Ruud marketing programs and communicates updates to customers.
  • Participates in promotional and pricing initiatives.
Communication and Training
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written presentation skills.
  • Actively participates in ongoing training and professional development.
Other
  • Travel as needed.
  • Maintains organized, timely completion of administrative tasks.
  • Submits accurate mileage, expense, and CRM reports promptly.
  • Maintains proficiency with company computer systems in aspects related to job, such as data entry, messaging, call logs, data notations, queue updates, batching, or other job and office functions and requirements.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or its GED equivalent and some college coursework in Business or related field.
  • 7 or more years' experience with HVAC, sales, and related functions.
  • Proficient in using office technology, including computers, photocopiers, scanners, phone systems, and virtual meeting platforms, as required for daily responsibilities.
  • 7-10 hours worked per day; up to 40-43 hours worked per week.
  • Lifting / carrying up to 10 pounds 0-1 hours per day.
  • Reviewing documents 1-5 hours per day.
  • Sitting 3-8 hours per day.
  • Using close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Using fingers, hands, and arms to perform office / computer work 6-8 hours per day.
  • Using hearing to talk, listen, and use phones 1-6 hours per day.
  • Using office equipment - computers, phones, scanners, fax machines - 6-8 hours per day.
