Product Manager
The Product Manager is responsible for managing and developing the products for the specific product line assigned by the department manager. The position is responsible for developing products and sales opportunities by identifying potential products, conducting competitive analysis, generating product requirements, determining specifications, production timetables, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction, and working in collaboration with the Marketing Department to develop marketing strategies.
The Product Manager is responsible to collaborate with all other departments in order to maximize opportunities for their product line.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Ensure growth of designated product lineDetermine customer needs by researching market information and conducting competitive analysisWork in collaboration with Marketing to develop literature, samples, and training tools to support sales growthProvide source data for product line communicationsIntroduce and market new products and technologies by developing time-integrated plans with Research & Development, Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain by utilizing the Stage Gate processMaintain and develop presentations and participate in company training eventsUtilize Salesforce to understand company trends and input customer and project interactionsCollobarate with sales team as needed for product training, sales calls, and customer presentationsDetermine product pricing by utilizing market research data, reviewing production and sales costs, and anticipating volumeCollaborate with technical departments to ensure products are utilized and specified in correct mannerAssist with testing products for compatibility and application techniquesDevelop and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliersProvide information for senior management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts, special reports, and analyses as requestedMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societiesCollaborate with SOPREMA Canada and SOPREMA Group as required to ensure consistent messaging and to ensure best practices are utilizedOther responsibilities as assignedMinimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, architecture, construction management, engineering, science, or other relevant disciplineMinimum 3 years of product management experience in the construction industry, preferably in the building materials industry and/or with a manufacturerWorking Conditions and/or Physical Demands:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds at timesOccasional travel by airplane and long car ridesClimbing and descending stairs and laddersStanding at trade shows for extended periods of timeSpeaking to large groupsAbility to communicate clearly and effectively via telephone, in person, video calls, and in writingReports to the Senior Product Manager.
