Position Summary:
We're seeking a Product Manager II with hands-on expertise in EVSE (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment) communications, including OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol), OCPI (Open Charge Point Interface), and charger-server operations. This is a mid-level role for someone ready to dive into an agile environment and drive meaningful product improvements that directly affect network uptime, diagnostics, charging session quality, and customer satisfaction.
In this role, you will collaborate with development teams, engineering, hardware partners, and external vendors to deliver features that enhance the reliability, efficiency, and security of EVgo charger communications. You'll own and prioritize a high impact backlog, driving the delivery of capabilities that improve charging success rates and strengthen interoperability across the network.
Responsibilities:
Own the product roadmap and backlog for charger communication enhancements, including delivering key initiatives in OCPP and OCPI, diagnostics, and remote monitoring
Lead agile ceremonies when needed (stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming) and work closely with engineering as both Product Owner and Scrum Master
Define user stories and acceptance criteria to improve charger performance, fault handling, and communications resilience
Collaborate with hardware teams and internal operations to debug issues, deploy fixes, and validate their performance
Champion interoperability and scalability by contributing to protocol specifications, certifications, and API design
Become the subject matter expert on charger communications and partner with teams to evolve EVgo's charger management, telemetry, and alerting capabilities
Prioritize enhancements that improve uptime and provide a better charging experience for customers and roaming partners
