Job Overview The Product Manager for Automation is responsible for the strategic direction, development, and launch of autonomous mining products for Komatsu. This role requires a deep understanding of the mining industry, customer needs, and market trends. The Product Manager will collaborate closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and operations teams to deliver innovative dantotsu products, enabling our customers to address challenges related to safety, scale, and complexity of their current and future operations. Key Job Responsibilities Leads product management activities for one or more products and contributes to a coherent automation strategy across the wider automation and mining strategy teams. Works with customers to understand their automation needs. Collaborates with product management & engineering groups within the Komatsu Mining Technology organization to understand automation and operator assistance technologies for equipment and integrated autonomous products. Defines feasible technical and commercial pathways with engineering teams to deliver required functionalities and develop foundational automation capabilities. Creates and maintains strategies & roadmaps, incorporating Voice-of-Customer insights into development plans. Justifies and initiates development projects, manages buy/build/partner processes. Develops collaboration partners, drives market awareness, and manages the lifecycle of products from concept through end-of-life, optimizing profitability and customer value. Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; extensive equivalent knowledge of mining applications, equipment, and autonomous technology can substitute for a degree. Minimum of 8 years of experience in mining, automotive, or similar industries with autonomous applications. Strong understanding of autonomous systems and related technologies (perception, localization, navigation, motion planning, control systems, supervisory systems, digital communication, and functional safety). Broad knowledge of the global mining industry, including practices, market trends, and new products/services. Experience in product lifecycle management, successful product launches, and revenue growth. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts to diverse audiences. Willingness to travel approximately 30%, domestically and internationally, to collaborate with customers, partners, and other locations. Additional Information Hiring Range: $103,000 - $128,800, depending on experience and location.
