Optomi, in partnership with a leading telecommunications company, is seeking an experienced Product Innovation Lead. This is a strategic, business-facing role focused on product innovation rather than project or technical product development. The ideal candidate will be identifying and defining next-generation managed services and revenue-generating opportunities for customers, particularly in hotels, schools, universities, arenas, and churches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities to expand the managed services portfolio (beyond WiFi, Internet, TV).
- Conduct competitive and market research to evaluate new product concepts.
- Deliver a strategic business case with recommended service/product ideas, credible market sizing, and execution paths.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to define product narratives, price structures, billing codes, and go-to-market plans.
- Act as a product owner for approved initiatives, guiding the blueprint from vision to execution.
- Present findings and proposals to senior leadership and VPs.
- Engage with external partners, customers, and stakeholders to understand demand and feasibility.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- MBA or equivalent hands-on business experience (e.g. business model creation, strategic planning).
- 5–7+ years of experience in business strategy, product innovation, or product ownership.
- Proven ability to create business models, evaluate ROI/investment cases, and craft position papers.
- Comfortable performing market research and competitive landscape analysis.
- Track record of turning ideas into actionable product roadmaps.
- Exceptional presentation skills must be confident presenting to VPs and senior leadership
- Excellent written and verbal communication, persuasive, polished, and professional
- Ability to lead cross-functional conversations and build buy-in without formal authority
- Strong entrepreneurial mindset

Preferred Experience:
- Deep familiarity with one or more customer verticals: Hotels, Higher Education, Churches, Arenas.
- Experience buying or managing technology for these environments (e.g., former IT director at a university or hotel group).
- Past roles in service providers or tech solution vendors serving these verticals.
- Strong understanding of tech applications like security cameras, IoT, sensors, managed services, etc.
- Background from industry analyst firms is a plus.
