Sleep Fuels Everything !Learn more at bedgear.com.Summary: The Product Development Assistant will provide support to the Product Development team in all day-to-day operations and be involved with product development from concept through completion. What's expected (includes but is not limited to):
  • Perform administrative functions including management of samples (i.e., label and log incoming & outgoing samples, track all stages of samples according to time and action calendar, organization of samples in PD office and showroom, etc.)
  • Implement changes and revisions to BOM's, BOA's and Tech Packs
  • Create and maintain materials library and standardized guides
  • Keep in constant contact with overseas vendors and manufacturers to follow up with product development details including approvals, comments, samples (Proto, PP and TOP's), prices etc.
  • Maintain WIP reports with all correct dates.
  • Request fabric detail sheets with quality swatches and maintain a fabric sheet library
  • Request and maintain lab test reports.
  • Receive and sort incoming packages; create labels and manage outgoing mail/shipments
  • Assist in brand direction and trend forecasting
  • Conduct ongoing material and vendor research and take on ad hoc projects as needed
  • Assist with additional projects as requested by management
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify
  • English proficient (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)
  • Must have and be willing to use personal transportation for local errands
  • MS Office Suite including strong Excel and Outlook; Database & ERP system navigation skills, Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator necessary
  • Must be extremely detail oriented, organized, and consistent; sets high standards for quality of work produced
  • Exceptional communication and intrapersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a multi-task, high pressure environment
  • Must have a strong aesthetic sense and great eye for design
  • Should understand styles, and design trends in home furnishings and fashion
Education/Experience/License Requirements:
  • Three years administrative assistant experience, preferable in soft goods or similar field
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced environment
