Job Summary:
The Product Developer is responsible for supporting the design and development of value-added bread products, including branded and private label lines. The role involves leading product and process improvement projects, managing new product launches, and ensuring smooth transitions from lab prototypes to full-scale production. This position collaborates cross-functionally with operations, R&D, sales, marketing, and quality teams while overseeing plant trials and maintaining food safety and quality standards. Regular travel and hands-on engagement in manufacturing environments are essential to the role.
Job Qualifications:
- Degree in Food Science, Engineering, or a related discipline; Baking/Culinary diploma or Certified Master Baker preferred.
- 5 years of experience in food manufacturing, product development, or quality, preferably in bakery manufacturing.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills with proven project management experience.
- Knowledge of industrial bakery equipment and ingredient functionality in yeast-raised or chemically leavened products.
Job Requirements:
- Conduct and lead plant trials, new product launches, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Translate lab prototypes into commercial-scale production while ensuring product quality and safety.
- Liaise with suppliers and cross-functional teams to improve formulations and reduce costs.
- Ability to travel up to 20% and work flexible hours including weekends when needed.
