Job Summary

As a Produce Department Stock Associate, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and availability of fresh fruits and vegetables. You'll help maintain high standards of product presentation and customer service in our produce and floral departments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure full stock conditions on produce and floral display racks, tables, and shelves.
• Unload products using a pallet jack and reload trucks with return items (must be 18+ years).
• Rotate or discard dated products properly to maintain freshness.
• Inspect produce for quality and adhere to safety standards.
• Manage waste by collecting empty cardboard boxes and trash using a bailer (must be 18+ years).
• Assist customers and partners with inquiries regarding products and prices.
• Engage in suggestive selling to promote product sales.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers and addressing complaints.
• Maintain a clean and safe shopping environment by following safety procedures.
• Handle raw food products with high sanitary standards.
• Use sharp tools safely under supervision to present quality products.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to operate manual or electric pallet jacks (must be 18+ years).
• Competence in maintaining department equipment under guidance.
• Careful handling of objects to prevent damage.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teammates.
• Willingness to learn new technology and processes.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Awareness of safety hazards and ability to remediate appropriately.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

• Minimum age of 16 required; must be 18 to operate motorized equipment.
• Food Handler certification is necessary.
• On-the-job training provided.

Physical Demands

• Ability to see, walk, and stand for extended periods.
• Capable of pushing, pulling, or lifting up to 40 lbs consistently.
• Ability to bend and kneel frequently and lift objects up to 75 lbs occasionally.
• Exposure to varying temperatures and conditions.
• Regular attendance is mandatory.

Work Environment

• Work primarily in a retail environment.
• Occasional exposure to cold conditions, slippery surfaces, and cleaning agents.
• Noise levels range from quiet to moderate.
