Responsibilities
Model the 3A's of Friendly: acknowledge, assist, and appreciate our CustomersPromote Corporate Brands to customersPromote trust and respect among associatesCreate an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions regarding products sold within the department and throughout the storeGain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions about productsAssist with the preparation of produce platters/traysInform customers of produce specialsRecommend items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and needPrepare, package, label, and inventory merchandise appropriatelyReview and inspect products for quality and freshness, and take appropriate action with those itemsLabel, stock, and inventory department merchandiseReport product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department managerDisplay a positive attitudeStay current with present, future, seasonal, and special adsEnsure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are keptReinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions to store managementPractice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department or store manager of repairs neededNotify management of customer or employee accidentsReport all safety risks or issues, including illegal activities such as robbery, theft, or fraud, to store managementWork cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environmentManage conflict reasonably, non-confrontationally, and cooperativelyAct with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business informationFollow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issuesSupport and assist through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adultsPerform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodationQualifications
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Effective communication skills
- Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
- Current food handler's permit once employed
Desired Previous Job Experience:
- Comparable retail experience
- Second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing)
