Position Description
SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University seeks to hire a Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth plus (PRODiG+ ) postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Community Health Sciences, School of Public Health.
The SUNY PRODiG+ Fellowship program aims to (1) increase the number and share of excellent diverse faculty committed to advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion; and (2) strengthen the pipeline for retention and support of those faculty.
The fellow will contribute to advancing the diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives of the institution, and will be mentored by a committee of faculty with a proven track record in supporting the career growth of early-stage faculty and an externally funded research program with a focus on health equity. The PRODiG+ fellow hired for this position will engage in a 2-year fellowship, with a highly competitive salary and with start-up funding to support professional development.
Position Summary
The PRODiG+ fellow will engage in advanced training, structured mentorship, and the development of professional skills that prepare the fellow for academic positions in public health and associated fields of study. This full-time position will be supported by a faculty mentorship committee with a strong history of successful mentorship and independent research funding and will be guided by a co-developed individual development plan (IDP). The primary mentor will provide direct supervision and ongoing support to enhance the fellow's skills in grant-writing, manuscript writing and publication, and professional development.

Salary Grade/Rank:
Salary Range: The salary for this position is $80,000 per year + Location Pay.
