Procurement Specialist - Senior - Primary Services : Job Details

Primary Services is excited to announce the role of Procurement Specialist - Senior for a large, industry-leading client. In this role, you will manage complex procurement activities, from processing operational purchase requests to leading sourcing initiatives. You will work closely with suppliers, business requisitioners, and strategic sourcing teams to ensure the right goods and services are secured at competitive prices. This position also provides opportunities to mentor junior staff and lead process improvement efforts in a dynamic, results-focused environment.

Responsibilities:

• Process purchase requisitions for materials and services into purchase orders with qualified suppliers.
• Research and identify potential sources of supply; conduct RFQs and pricing analysis in compliance with policies.
• Engage with suppliers throughout the selection and purchase order process.
• Coordinate with strategic sourcing to align purchasing activities with enterprise agreements and bid opportunities.
• Collaborate with requisitioners and suppliers to clarify needs and ensure fulfillment.
• Monitor and report on savings, performance, and other key metrics.
• Resolve delivery, performance, and invoicing issues in the procure-to-pay cycle.
• Maintain accuracy of blanket agreements and pricing in outline agreements.
• Identify opportunities for enterprise-wide sourcing initiatives.
• Support project-based and outage-related procurement needs.
• Mentor junior procurement specialists and help balance workload across the team.
• Lead operational procurement process improvement projects and metrics reporting.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years of procurement experience; 5–7 years of sourcing experience in Generation, Retail, or Corporate categories preferred.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Excel and Power BI.
• Experience with SAP applications preferred.
• ISM CPSM certification a plus.
• Prior supply management experience in power plant, corporate, IT, marketing, advertising, or contact center categories beneficial.
