Extraordinary Projects need Exceptional Talent
As a Change Order Engineer at Tutor Perini OG JV, reporting to the Project Executive, you will have the opportunity to:
- Assist in the review of scope, cost analysis, negotiations, and resolution of change order issues
- Ensure that TPC's Cost Proposals are prepared in accordance with the Owner's guidelines and applicable contract documents
- Develop scope of work packages to define project work requirements through narratives, checklists, and quantity take-off for change order pricing
- Solicit subcontractor/vendor quotations, prepare and distribute change order document packages, respond to inquiries, being knowledgeable of respective scopes of work and responsibilities
- Evaluate and analyze subcontractor/vendor proposals to ensure accuracy in scope. (Quantities, schedule, inclusions, exclusions, etc.)
- Attend negotiation meetings with the project staff and Owner and assist with proposal analysis presentation
- Attend job meetings and visit the job site to obtain first-hand knowledge of the change order scope
- Finalize T&M records, including collating and pricing T&M work, as well as preparation of cost proposals for submission to the client
- Assist with change order negotiations and finalize agreed upon terms, conditions, and price
- Assist with purchasing and definition of subcontractor/ vendor agreements scope of work
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or similar from an accredited institution
- Seven (7) or more years of experience in the construction industry with an emphasis on estimating. Ability to understand construction documents and develop scopes of work
- Working knowledge of take-off / estimating software a plus
- Experience with Government projects a plus
- Must understand fundamentals of contracting and have familiarity with large scale projects
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills such as tact, diplomacy, influence, etc. are essential
- Must be a business-oriented person.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word primarily)
- Working knowledge of take-off software or similar a plus
- Excellent written and verbal skills
