Job ResponsibilitiesUnder limited supervision the Director of Purchasing is responsible for all the coordination and procurement functions for the Technical College of the Lowcountry. This position reports to the Vice President for Administrative Services and performs managerial and expert-level professional duties in overseeing the procurement function for the Technical College of the Lowcountry. The position is responsible for daily and long-range procurement for operational functions as well as capital project procurements and include contract bid solicitations.

The position is responsible for daily and long-range procurement for operational functions as well as capital project procurements and include contract bid solicitations.Duties And Responsibilities

• Planning and coordinating procurement for operational supplies and equipment to ensure compliance with State Procurement Code
• Performs complex procurements by preparing and designating invitations for bid and request for bid as required by SC Procurement Code.
• Serves as the College's chief liaison with the SC Procurement Services.
• Prepares required reports as needed for procurement.
• Maintains a working relationship with all institutional vendors and potential suppliers
• Responsible for maintaining current insurance coverage
• Serves as liaison with federal agencies and State Tech office
• Coordinates the training of all faculty and staff in the on-line use of requisitions.
• Plans and implements procurement policies and procedures
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Minimum And Additional RequirementsRequired: Bachelor's degree and experience in procurement and contracts.Preferred QualificationsPreferred: Bachelor's degree plus three (3) years of procurement and contracts experience. Professional Buyer, Certified Public Purchasing Officer, or Certified Purchasing Manager CertificationAdditional CommentsThe Technical College of the Lowcountry seeks to be the first choice for higher education in South Carolina's Low Country Region.
