Responsibilities
- Support and manage the competitive procurement process for mission-critical data center projects, including vendor engagement, bid package coordination, and analysis of trade packages for MEP systems, electrical infrastructure, cooling systems, and other critical scopes.
- Coordinate the development of bidder response evaluation materials, providing recommendations and insights to project leadership for vendor selection.
- Collaborate closely with development, design, and construction teams to align procurement activities with project schedules, particularly for fast-track and phased project delivery models.
- Assist in defining and refining scopes of work for key data center trades, with a focus on identifying and managing long-lead equipment and procurement risk early in the project lifecycle.
- Assemble and issue comprehensive bid packages, including technical specifications, scope breakdowns, and project timelines. Participate in establishing bidder lists, setting bid protocols, and maintaining prequalification data for specialized trades.
- Review contract documents and design drawings to ensure scope alignment with performance, redundancy, and uptime requirements. Provide clarification and support to bidders throughout the RFP/Q process.
- Lead bid reviews and scope alignment meetings in coordination with internal stakeholders. Develop bid leveling tools to support technical and commercial evaluations.
- Evaluate vendor capability and readiness, including their capacity to meet project-specific requirements such as compressed lead times, commissioning complexity, and QA/QC expectations.
- Track procurement activities and contribute to project cost management, including updates to procurement logs, award tracking, budget changes, and unbought scopes in coordination with the cost team.
- Support issue resolution related to scope gaps, change orders, and vendor performance concerns throughout project execution.
- Stay current on supply chain developments and market trends related to mission-critical equipment and labor. Share insights with internal teams to inform procurement strategy.
- Assist in the closeout process, ensuring final vendor data and costs are accurately documented for post-project benchmarking and future planning.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience supporting procurement or construction delivery for data center or mission-critical infrastructure projects, with direct exposure to MEP systems, long-lead equipment, and vendor coordination.
- At least 1–2 years of experience performing contract administration or procurement-related functions within the construction industry, preferably on fast-track or technically complex projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CCM, PMP, LEED, or procurement certifications) a plus.
- Familiarity with the technical, logistical, and scheduling demands of large-scale data centers, including high-voltage power systems, HVAC/cooling infrastructure, and commissioning workflows.
- Proven ability to interpret technical documentation, including construction drawings, scopes of work, and commercial contract terms.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple procurement packages across concurrent projects while maintaining clear communication with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- Effective communicator with solid vendor negotiation skills and the ability to lead meetings, track deliverables, and manage accountability in high-pressure environments.
- Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to identifying risks, resolving procurement issues, and supporting data-driven decision-making.
Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. In addition to a competitive base salary, you will be eligible to receive discretionary bonus incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
Anticipated base salary range: $140,000+
Actual base salary within the anticipated range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and market factors.
