AGC Heat Transfer, Inc, is the leading manufacturer of sanitary plate heat exchangers in North America. AGC offers a line of proprietary heat exchangers, parts and service, as well as upgrade plates for other brands. In addition, AGC offers on-site inspections of plate heat exchangers that meet the 3-A sanitary standard.
AGC Heat Transfer consists of three manufacturing/service facilities (Bristow, VA, Fairview, OR and Pleasant Prairie, WI) with approximately 117 employees (77 OR/ 20 VA/ 20 other locations). The majority of sales are to the US and Canada. AGC Heat Transfer has a strong engineering culture with a heavy emphasis on customer service and technical/consultative sales.
Job Description
As a key member of the Purchasing team, the Procurement Coordinator will support strategic sourcing initiatives, supplier performance management, and procurement operations to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This position requires full-time office presence in our Bristow VA location.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead negotiations for purchase opportunities under $25,000, ensuring optimal pricing, delivery, and quality from approved suppliers.
- Create and manage purchase orders, distribute current drawings/specifications, and expedite critical parts to meet production timelines.
- Analyze and compare quotations from existing and potential suppliers, leveraging
- total cost of ownership and value-based sourcing principles.
- Serve as the primary liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders (Engineering, Quality, Production) to resolve technical and commercial issues.
- Drive supplier development initiatives focused on improving quality, delivery reliability and cost efficiency.
- Issue and manage Supplier Corrective Action Requests for recurring or critical nonconformities, ensuring root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics and lead continuous improvement projects to enhance supply chain resilience.
- Proactively communicate potential delays or risks to production teams and escalate issues to leadership as needed.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable to resolve PO/invoice discrepancies and manage claims with suppliers.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels using demand forecasts, lead time analysis, and supplier capacity planning.
- Support cross-functional initiatives including safety, lean manufacturing, and digital transformation efforts.
- Participate in strategic sourcing reviews and contribute to supplier selection and onboarding processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of procurement and supply chain excellence.

Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain operations.
- Must be able to travel 15% to 20%.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel/data analysis skills.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with supplier performance management, cost analysis, and contract administration.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, quality systems, and inventory optimization techniques.
- APICS, ISM, or similar supply chain/procurement certifications are a plus
