Salary: $37,782.00 - $66,120.00 Annually Location : Buncombe County, NC Job Type: Permanent Full-Time Remote Employment: Flexible/Hybrid Job Number: 25-09885 EIPD 60054813 Department: Dept of Health and Human Services Division: Vocational Rehabilitation Opening Date: 08/29/2025 Closing Date: 9/10/2025 5:00 PM Eastern Job Class Title: Administrative Specialist I Position Number: 60054813 Section: Asheville VR / IL Unit Salary Grade: NC08 Description of Work Position is funded in part through federal funds.**Position is eligible for a hybrid-teleworking schedule to include weekly onsite work hours** Recruitment Range - $37,782.00 - $48,000.00 This Processing Assistant IV position in the Asheville Unit Office serves as receptionist for the office and is the first point of contact for all visitors and callers to the office. Effective communication with consumers, employers, and the public, including but not limited to vocational rehabilitation clients with a variety of disabilities, including physical and developmental disabilities, and mental health and substance use disorders is key in this position. Duties also include providing support to regional personnel who periodically work in the satellite office. Job duties include but are not limited to:
  • Greeting visitors and callers courteously and professionally, to include contact with staff, vendors, other departments and the public
  • Using a multi-line phone system to answer and route calls to the appropriate staff members
  • Completing billing processes for assigned staff
  • Receiving applications from clients, along with requesting and obtaining medical/treatment records
  • Providing follow-up contacts with clients, employers, vendors, and other agency personnel as needed
  • Documenting client information, interactions, and services into the case management system throughout the rehabilitation process
  • Utilizing office equipment and other relevant technology (software and systems) to meet office needs
