Title: Process Simulation Engineer
Location: Corning, NY, USA 14831
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Provide model-based analytical support to address real production challenges.
- Collect process inputs and experimental data to define problems and deliverables.
- Apply rigorous scientific principles in flow, mass/heat transfer, electrical and magnetic fields, and chemical reactions to develop deep technical understanding of key process steps.
- Select appropriate modeling tools and determine the technical approach for solving complex numerical problems.
- Collaborate with process engineers for model validation and enhancement.
- Communicate model findings and recommend process improvements.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Required Education & Experience
- MS or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
- 0 years required beyond graduate school (recent graduates encouraged to apply).
Required Skills
- Strong fundamentals in physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, fluid dynamics, and mass/heat transfer.
- Experience with modeling software such as ANSYS Fluent, COMSOL, or equivalent open-source tools.
- Knowledge of numerical modeling and computational methods.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Desired Skills & Experience
- 2+ years in relevant industry roles (preferred).
- Knowledge of plasma and statistical mechanics.
- Strong data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Experience with Python or MATLAB for code development.
- Familiarity with process and product engineering environments.
