Description
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Manager Process Manufacturing 2 to join our diverse team of professionals. This leadership position is located onsite in Bethpage, NY.
In this role, the Manager Process Manufacturing 2 will lead, manage, and supervise the shop floor personnel. The selected candidate will manage, direct, and lead the activities of a cross-functional product team responsible for manufacturing aviation support equipment that meets all cost, quality, and schedule commitments. Expectations for success include developing and maintaining open lines of communication to ensure high levels of program and customer satisfaction, promoting the development of directed work groups, ensuring compliance with all state, corporate, and sector policies related to health, safety, environmental, and equal opportunity regulations.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Sets daily and long-term work priorities and operating objectives in support of overall program objectives.
Provides guidance to subordinates based on those priorities and objectives while adhering to company policy.
Communicates roadblocks and impediments to meeting production goals to Program Manager/Integrated Product Team.
Assists team with removing constraints preventing them from performing at the highest level.
Reviews team staffing and budget statuses and makes recommendations to meet program schedule and cost.
Responsible for establishing manhour and expense estimates with justification for Department of Defense proposals for manufacturing activities.
Regularly analyzes alternative courses of action while weighing risk/reward implications for the program.
Helps meet established schedules or resolve technical or operational problems.
Provides direction and coaching to technicians.
Ensures team members receive the required training to effectively and efficiently accomplish required work.
Encourages and provides direction for career development of employees, including educational options for highly motivated employees.
Provides leadership/direction to ensure all affordability initiatives and opportunities for process improvements are systematically identified, pursued, and supported.

Responsible for cost, quality, schedule performance, and team engagement as part of the Operations leadership team.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree AND 10 years of experience in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment OR High School Diploma/GED AND 15 years of experience in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment.
Must have 5 years of prior management/leadership experience.
Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance as well as the ability to obtain and maintain Program Special Access.
Knowledge of aircraft subsystems, assembly, and support equipment.
Experience managing a multi-disciplined production shop including machining, welding, parts fabrication, and assembly.
Preferred Qualifications:
Active DoD Top Secret clearance.
Current Special Program Access (PAR).
Proven leadership capabilities.
5 or more years of manufacturing and production management experience.
Able to effectively communicate and present across functions and at the executive level.
Material Review Board (MRB) experience.
Salary Range: $114,100 - $171,100
