Job Description The Greer Group has an exciting opportunity for a Process Engineer in a Direct Hire Role! Job Summary Responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes, with a focus on plastic injection molding and stainless-steel CNC laser cutting, to ensure production efficiency, product quality, and compliance. This role supports cross-functional teams in the U.S. And Asia, requiring fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese. The Process Engineer leads technical efforts to resolve production issues, support new product introductions, and drives continuous improvement projects. Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, document, and improve injection molding and laser cutting processes to ensure repeatable, high-quality, and cost-efficient production.
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for process issues impacting production, scrap, or quality.
- Collaborate with engineers and suppliers (domestic and overseas) on mold and machine designs, revisions, maintenance, and optimization.
- Interface daily with colleagues in Asia to review production metrics, process issues, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the introduction of new products by assisting with process development, mold trials, capability studies, and validation protocols.
- Develop and maintain standard work instructions, process documentation, and change controls.
- Ensure all processes comply with internal quality standards and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Support the training of machine operators and process technicians on new and existing processes.
- Analyze production data to identify trends, drive root cause analysis, and support data-driven process improvements.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through automation, material optimization, or cycle time reduction.
- Follow all safety and company policies and guidelines.
- Performs additional duties and special projects as required to support business objectives.
Required Skill/Abilities
- Proficiency in both English and Mandarin Chinese (written and spoken) is required.
- Comfortable working in a bilingual, multicultural technical environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of plastic injection molding processes, tooling, and materials.
- Familiarity with CNC laser cutting operations, including nesting, programming, and machine setup.
- Proficient in engineering software such as Creo and SolidWorks.
- Clear, professional communication and the ability to work across time zones with international partners.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to pass a background screen.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, or related technical field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering role, preferably in plastic injection molding.
- Experience working with overseas suppliers or manufacturing partners, especially in Asia, is highly preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to walk through a manufacturing plant, climb stairs, and occasionally bend or crouch to access machinery.
- Must be able to wear the required PPE (personal protective equipment) and work in a plant environment with exposure to moderate noise, machinery, and chemicals.
- Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
