Our growing manufacturing client has an immediate need for a Solution Design Engineer.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customers and sales to understand application-specific needs.
- Participate in discovery calls, site visits, and technical meetings.
- Create conceptual 3D CAD models, layouts, or hand sketches to visualize ideas.
- Ensure designs align with company capabilities and constraints.
- Interpret RFQs, specifications, and drawings to design compliant solutions.
- Assess feasibility and system compatibility.
- Work with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to verify design assumptions.
- Identify trade-offs and risk areas early in the process.
- Prepare technical proposals covering layouts, performance, integration, and cost.
- Support presentations and meetings, clearly explaining technical concepts.
- Facilitate seamless handoff to engineering for detailed design and production.
- Participate in internal reviews to ensure alignment and integrity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- 4+ years in design, applications, or solutions engineering
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD tools
- Strong grasp of manufacturing processes (CNC machining, automation, assembly)
- Excellent technical communication and presentation skills
- Skilled in project coordination and managing multiple projects
- Bonus: Experience with wire & cable machinery, automation systems, or custom CNC solutions
