Job Description :
Position Overview: We are seeking a hands-on, improvement-driven Process/Manufacturing Engineer to support and elevate our manufacturing operations. The right candidate brings a strong foundation in lean principles, a solid understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes, and a proactive, team-first mindset. This person should also be up to date on current manufacturing technologies-from automation trends to digital tools-and capable of leveraging them to improve productivity, quality, safety, and workflow. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the floor, solving real-world problems, and translating data into meaningful action. Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to reduce waste, increase flow, and support quality using lean tools such as 5S, value stream mapping, standard work, and visual controls.
  • Identify and implement improvements using modern manufacturing technologies, including automation, smart tooling, digital work instructions, and data tracking systems.
  • Collect, interpret, and report on key production metrics (cycle time, scrap, downtime, throughput, etc.) to guide decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Lead structured root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams) and drive cross-functional problem-solving to resolve process and quality issues.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and visual management tools to track performance and make data visible at all levels.
  • Support implementation of manufacturing systems such as kanban, material flow, and work order tracking.
  • Design or improve fixtures, jigs, and workstation layouts using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360, etc.).
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to provide design-for-manufacturability (DFM) input on new products or design changes.
  • Participate in and support the commissioning and startup of new equipment and processes, including validation, training, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in equipment upgrades, layout modifications, and tooling changes with safety, ergonomics, and throughput in mind.
  • Ensure processes and equipment comply with internal standards and regulatory safety and environmental requirements (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Write or update work instructions, process documents, and visual standards to ensure consistency and training effectiveness.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to recommend and implement modern solutions.
  • Work closely with operators, supervisors, and technicians to sustain improvements and foster a culture of continuous learning and problem-solving.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering capacity (fabrication, assembly, machining, etc.).
  • Strong grasp of lean manufacturing principles; formal training or certification is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience using data to drive improvements (Excel, Power BI, SPC tools, MES, etc.).
  • Familiarity with modern manufacturing technologies such as industrial automation, sensors, digital process monitoring, or advanced manufacturing methods.
  • Working knowledge of CAD software; ability to create or modify tooling and layouts.
  • Experience with root cause analysis, process troubleshooting, and corrective actions.
  • Knowledge of safety practices and ergonomic standards in a production setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented, and passionate about continuous improvement.
