JOB SUMMARY The Process Engineer plays a critical role in driving operational excellence through the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. This position requires a highly analytical and hands-on individual with a strong focus on Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen methodology, and data-driven decision-making. The Process Engineer will work cross-functionally with production, maintenance, quality, and leadership teams to identify and eliminate waste, improve process flow, and maximize equipment uptime and performance. REPORTING TO Operations Manager ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Lead and facilitate Kaizen events focused on eliminating waste, reducing downtime, and increasing throughput.
- Analyze and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by reducing unplanned downtime, improving cycle times, and optimizing performance and quality metrics.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to improve machine utilization, line balancing, and changeover times.
- Implement Lean tools such as 5S, standard work, SMED, value stream mapping, and visual management to improve plant efficiency.
- Support new equipment installations, process validation, and layout changes for improved workflow and material movement.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment performance, utilization, and continuous improvement activities.
- Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for recurring issues or downtime.
- Develop and maintain process documentation including work instructions, process flows, and standard operating procedures.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements for tooling, fixtures, and automation to increase process capability and reduce labor costs.
- Train operators and technicians on new processes, standard work, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support cost reduction initiatives by analyzing process efficiency, material usage, labor content, and equipment performance to identify and implement opportunities that lower manufacturing cost per unit without compromising quality or safety.
- Operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors.
- Foster a positive working relationship with union representatives by adhering to the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Computer expertise (Preferably Visual or equivalent ERP software, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to multi-task, plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret goals, objectives, and policies.
- Comfortable participating in group meetings.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a high-mix or batch production setting.
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen methodology, and OEE analysis.
- Proven experience improving machine utilization and reducing cycle times through engineering solutions.
- Hands-on experience with data collection, time studies, and process optimization.
- Proficiency with CAD software, Microsoft Office, and manufacturing data systems (MES/ERP).
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher) is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented with a hands-on approach.

- Must be able to stand, stoop and lift up to 40 lbs.
