Purpose: The process engineer is responsible for the quality and productivity of the assigned assets. Visible hands-on leader at the shop floor level, spearheading activities and plans to troubleshoot quality, material, and manufacturing problems. The process engineer provides support to the operations, quality, and process engineering departments in the safe and efficient operation of equipment for the purpose of monitoring, producing, or improving existing products and assisting or running trials in the development of future products.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000

Responsibilities

* Active asset promoter of EHS and all site 5S programs, ensuring all tasks are performed in a safe manner and in compliance with all safety and environmental policies and procedures. Acts as a front-line leader in all safety and environmental activities on his designated asset(s).

* Conducts weekly reviews on key programs under a SPC assessment to determine trends or opportunities to further improve product properties. Implements and maintains a GEMBA board for his designated line(s) with a graphic indication of key line productivity parameters.

* Responsible for the daily monitoring and troubleshooting of quality, process, and production issues and coordinates with production to address and correct any quality hold material corresponding to the assets assigned.

* Actively involved with maintenance to improve machine reliability and system improvements; verify the completion and quality of work orders performed by the E/M techs.

* In coordination with Logistics, PD, and Production, reviews on a daily basis the line scheduling to optimize the operation of the designated line(s); oversees the timely staging of materials to minimize line interruptions.

* In coordination with Production Management, shift supervisors, and line leaders, SMED spearheads SMED programs to implement the best operating practices, optimizing cleaning and code changes in the line(s) to maximize asset productivity.

* Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks/projects at one time. Demonstrating ability to operate assigned lines with in-depth process, product formulation and operating knowledge.Assist QA/Operations in disposition of material on Hold. Co responsible for the accreditation of his line in compliance to ISO13845 guidelines.Lead improvement programs around quality, process capability, and yield for the designated assets. Utilizes process control methodologies (Six Sigma, SPC, designed experiments, etc.) to solve problems and improve process control and capability. Responsible for investigating customer complaints and developing and following corrective actions in coordination with the QA Department.

* Actively involved in the preparation of JIB's, all documentation needed and the training and recertification of operators. Responsible for developing safe and efficient work instructions, co participates in the creation and updating of LOTO documents as well as Dynamic Risk assessments, NRTHA's and Minor servicing exemptions.

* Responsible to Educate and train Line Leads, Operators and other affected employees to effectively operate and troubleshoot productivity as well as quality issues.

* Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks/projects at one time. Demonstrating ability to operate assigned lines with in-depth process, product formulation and operating knowledge.

* Assist QA/Operations in disposition of material on Hold. Co responsible for the accreditation of his line in compliance to ISO13845 guidelines.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering field required

* 5years minimum experience in process, maintenance or operations role in a manufacturing environment (preferably extrusion, textile or paper.

* Enclosed office space with frequent exposure to production floor; hearing protection may be required at times.

* Equal amounts of time spent sitting, standing, and walking.

* Effective communication skills, written and oral, including presentation skills, technical and program writing, and the ability to communicate will all levels of management and employees.

* Ability to apply practical criteria to decision alternatives in order to choose course of action.

* Working knowledge of manufacturing industry (non-woven or textile related preferred)

* Must be proficient in Microsoft office, JDE as well as must be Green Belt certified
