Role Description
We are looking for Process Engineers to join our Assembly Manufacturing Engineering team. Together, we're responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and scaling up a new class of battery manufacturing assembly processes for Form Energy's Iron-Air multi-day battery.
As a Process Engineer, you will design novel manufacturing processes for the core battery assembly technologies. Your contributions will enable operational success of our Iron-Air Battery assembly processes. Your hands-on experience developing new technologies from concept to scaled implementation, data-driven and proactive problem-solving approach, will enable your success in this role.

This role will be located at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV, just outside Pittsburgh, PA. Relocation assistance is available.
What You'll Do:
- Lead development and optimization of novel battery assembly manufacturing technologies with a data-driven approach
- Develop and maintain FMEA, process specifications, measurement systems GR&R, control plans, SPC, and quality inspection methods
- Partner with Manufacturing Equipment teams to design, build, install, and operate processes on first-of-kind manufacturing equipment
- Collaborate with product design, R&D, quality, and supply chain teams to translate requirements into manufacturing processes that meet company targets
- Prioritize safety in all manufacturing aspects, from process design to scaled production
- Demonstrate ownership and accountability by commissioning and managing novel processes in a fast-paced environment
- Provide feedback to the Design team to simplify manufacturing processes
- Develop new test methods for real-time product evaluation during production
- Mentor and support team members with your expertise
What You'll Bring:
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or production, preferably in process engineering, NPI, or scale-up
- Expertise in process engineering principles, statistical analysis, and quality management systems (FMEA, SPC, RCA, DoE)
- Experience with statistical tools like JMP, Minitab, or similar for process decisions
- Proven experience owning manufacturing processes and ensuring quality, throughput, and yield
- Experience in documenting processes, safety, and quality practices
- Hands-on experience with medium to large equipment, with a proactive approach to filling gaps
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Materials Science, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- Strong communication and organizational skills
