Job Summary

As a PRN Ultrasound Technologist, you will deliver high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams, aiding physicians in patient evaluation and treatment. Your expertise, independent judgment, and dedication to patient care are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute ultrasound procedures independently, adhering to protocols for top-notch imaging results.
  • Ensure correct patient identification and verify that necessary procedures are in order before imaging.
  • Document pathologies identified during scans for the radiologist's interpretation in line with established protocols.
  • Prioritize patient care, safety, and comfort throughout all imaging procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, complying with safety and infection control measures.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment safely and effectively, following departmental and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Document imaging procedures and patient data accurately in electronic health records, ensuring comprehensive information is available for interpretation.
  • Manage inventory of imaging supplies efficiently, coordinating necessary replenishments.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned while complying with all organization policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology or Ultrasound Technology required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Sciences preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a clinical setting as an Ultrasound Technologist required.
  • 2-4 years of experience preferred.

Essential Skills and Attributes

  • High proficiency in ultrasound techniques and equipment handling.
  • Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathology relevant to diagnostic sonography.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills to engage with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities to ensure accurate imaging and documentation.
  • Able to work independently and make informed decisions within the role's scope.
  • Strong commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical standards.

Licenses and Certifications

  • ARDMS or ARRT - Sonography certification required.
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support certification obtained within 7 days of employment required.
