Private Equity Controller - Mission Staffing : Job Details

A leading alternative investment firm has an immediate opening for a senior-level finance professional — this is a unique opportunity to work closely with executive leadership and play a key role across both fund and management company operations.

A modern investment firm started by a well-known industry expert, focused on providing smart, multi-asset investment solutions and managing over $25 billion for clients around the world.

• Work with head of fund accounting to design and implement financial and operational best practices to support the growth and evolution of the platform.
• Build and oversee the fund accounting function including internal and outsourced providers.
• Research and design strategies and systems to improve efficiency as it pertains to accounting and financial reporting.
• Oversee the preparation of the quarterly financial statements, capital account statements, marketing letters, performance reporting, capital calls and distribution notices.
• Perform management and incentive calculations, expense accruals, budgeting and forecasting.
• Effectively liaise with investment professional, legal and compliance, business development, and operations to ensure proper controls are in place to support current and future business

• 12+ years of experience in a related function (fund admin, public auditor, or fund accountant)
• Private equity experience is required
• Distressed debt experience preferred
• CPA preferred
• Experience in collaborating with executive leadership and third-party partners to drive operational performance and shape a culture that is focused on continuous improvement
• Ability to work and think independently under time constraints

• Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution
