The Principal Solid Waste Consultant will act as a Project Manager or Senior Team Member, collaborating with various teams in the Solid Waste, Waste-to-Energy, and Energy Transition practice areas. This role also involves client and business development, proposal preparation, and client interfacing, primarily within the waste-to-energy and solid waste sectors across Florida. Occasional travel may be required for project site visits, client meetings, and conferences.
Key Responsibilities:Serve as a Project Manager or Lead Technical Expert for waste-to-energy and solid waste management projects, covering aspects like planning, procurement, permitting, design, construction, and private contractor operations.
Take on multiple roles across various multi-disciplinary projects, including QA/QC reviewer, technical advisor, designer, or client-facing project manager.
Offer technical guidance to multi-disciplinary teams on major solid waste management or waste-to-energy projects.
Provide leadership and mentorship to direct or indirect reports.
Manage internal project budgets and schedules to ensure timely client deliverables.
Support client teams in crafting technical solutions during the proposal process and in delivering compelling presentations.
Lead the planning and execution of public meetings and presentations related to projects, including municipal commission meetings, regulatory agency hearings, and community events.
20+ years of experience in the solid waste industry, including planning, design, construction, and operations.
A Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) License.
Proven experience in Project Management or Executive Management for waste-to-energy projects of varying scales.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
25+ years of experience in the waste-to-energy sector, including planning, development, design, construction, and private contract operations.
A Master's Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
Professional Engineer License in Florida or the ability to obtain ASME QRO certification.
An established professional reputation within the South Florida solid waste market.
Active involvement in regional and national professional associations.
