We are seeking an experienced Principal Support Administrator to provide high-level executive administrative support to one or more senior principals within a dynamic, mission-critical environment. This role demands a proactive, organized, and detail-oriented professional who can independently manage calendars, anticipate needs, coordinate logistics, and represent leadership in internal and external engagements. The position operates with general guidance and requires sound judgment, discretion, and a thorough understanding of agency protocol and mission priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and prioritize the principal's calendar, meetings, and travel arrangements.
  • Prepare the principal for meetings with relevant background, materials, and briefings.
  • Act as a liaison between the principal and internal/external contacts, including senior executives and interagency personnel.
  • Coordinate and oversee administrative support activities for the principal's broader team when required.
  • Monitor and respond to time-sensitive requests, independently addressing issues or assigning tasks to appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with agency/IC protocols in communication, scheduling, and document handling.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of organizational structure, mission priorities, and inter-agency dynamics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and version control practices.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Skilled in verbal and written communication to convey complex or sensitive topics clearly and effectively.
  • Capable of critical thinking and independent decision-making in dynamic work environments.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including diplomacy, negotiation, and collaboration.
  • Representational skills to professionally engage in mission-related meetings and events.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 4–5 years of progressively responsible administrative support experience.
  • 1–2 years of executive-level administrative support.
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
