V2X is growing! V2X is looking for a Principal Specialist, Subcontracts to join our team!

Vertex Aerospace LLC, a V2X company, is seeking a Principal Subcontracts Specialist to report to the IT and Cyber Solutions Subcontract Lead. This role supports the Mobile Sensors program and is a 100% onsite position at Patrick Space Force Base, FL, with minimal travel expected. The specialist will develop subcontract specifications, review work statements, and manage procurement terms for services and complex assemblies. Responsibilities include preparing bid packages, evaluating proposals, conducting Price/Cost Analysis, negotiating subcontract terms, performing supplier assessments, and managing subcontracts from award to closure. The role requires ensuring compliance with FAR/DFAR/AMS, company policies, import/export regulations (ITAR/EAR), and Davis Bacon Act/SCA. Collaboration with Integrated Product Teams (Engineering, Quality, Finance, Contracts, Program Management) is essential to ensure timely, compliant, and budget-conscious delivery. The candidate must be capable of managing multiple subcontracts and priorities simultaneously.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop supply chain strategies and alternatives
• Build and maintain strong relationships with first-tier subcontractors
• Develop innovative solutions for complex problems
• Perform risk analysis and develop mitigation plans
• Utilize change management systems and techniques
• Develop and execute project plans within budget and schedule
• Align solutions with organizational objectives
• Manage subcontracts effectively
• Participate in source selection during proposal and execution phases
• Assist in developing Statements of Work for subcontracts
• Analyze and interpret requirements from V2X prime contracts
• Demonstrate leadership within an IPT

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 years of experience managing subcontracts for complex US Government and Defense programs
• Must be a US Citizen
• Knowledge of FAR and AMS regulations
• Experience with various subcontract types (T&M, FFP, CPFF, etc.)
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills
• Ability to develop and negotiate various agreements
• Proven ability to work independently and influence critical requirements

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

• Proficiency with SAP
• Knowledge of V2X Supply Chain policies
• Experience managing large Program Supply Chains
• Six Sigma or equivalent certification
• Ability to present complex ideas to executives

Required Qualifications/Skills:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, JD, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field. Certifications like C.P.M or A.P.P (ISM), or NCMA are a plus. A Master's degree is also a plus.
