• Leverage your domain expertise in genomics, bioinformatics, and clinical diagnostics to develop innovative products, services, or solutions addressing real-world healthcare challenges. These ideas may stem from your experiences in the life sciences field, key healthcare partners, or other groups within Amazon.
• Create technology solutions for genomic data analysis, clinical diagnostics workflows, and precision medicine applications, evolving them as we gain new insights. You understand how to decompose complex bioinformatics and clinical research concepts into discrete, deliverable components.
• Use your scientific knowledge to assess the feasibility of proposed solutions, considering current capabilities in genomics and clinical diagnostics, potential adaptations of existing technologies, and areas requiring further research in life sciences.
• Maintain close relationships with healthcare providers, research institutions, and pharmaceutical companies to anticipate future needs in personalized medicine and clinical genomics. Translate these insights into concrete proposals for AWS HealthOmics services.
• Refine and advocate a 'north star' vision for AWS in the genomics and clinical diagnostics space, guiding business decisions with executives and aligning teams. Craft compelling theses on the future of precision medicine and bioinformatics, demonstrating your expertise in both technical and healthcare domains.
• Collaborate with regulatory affairs teams to ensure solutions meet healthcare compliance standards.
• Stay current with rapid advancements in genomics technologies, bioinformatics algorithms, and clinical research methodologies to inform AWS service development.
• Travel up to 20%, including domestic and potentially international destinations, to engage with key players in the healthcare and life sciences sectors.

• 10+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
• Experience developing technology solutions and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing
• Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training, workshops, publications

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation or equivalent
• Knowledge of large scale automation and workflow management or equivalent
• Knowledge of database design and implementation or equivalent
• Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers
• Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud

The base pay for this position ranges from $164,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $284,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
