We are seeking an innovative, adaptable, and results-oriented Principal Solution Architect for our IT Engineering department. This position can be located in Waltham, MA, Brooklyn, NY, Hicksville, NY, or Syracuse, NY. Candidates may also reside in Connecticut, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Maine. What you'll do

As a Principal Solution Architect, you will understand the capabilities of the Maximo application and supporting technologies. You will design and support the development of quality solution options tailored to business needs, ensuring optimal utilization of application capabilities. You will evaluate technologies against vendor roadmaps, market trends, and competitive products to meet current and future National Grid requirements.

You will ensure all solutions are fit for purpose, compliant, and adhere to National Grid's standards. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring solution design integrity from concept through implementation.
  • Mentoring and collaborating with technical experts to develop enabling technology architectures.
  • Providing design services during development phases.
  • Guiding stakeholders to maximize technology investments.
  • Communicating technical designs and rationales within the architecture community.
  • Assisting in service level agreements and incident resolution standards.
About you
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Enterprise-level software development/support experience.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle, product evaluation, and technology deployment.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge in application development, configuration, and support of Enterprise Asset Management systems.
  • Experience with Agile, SAFe, and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Knowledge of client/server and web architectures.
  • Experience setting up environments from an infrastructure perspective.
  • Technical Skills:

o Strong experience with IBM Maximo v7.6 or later.

o Expertise in database technologies like DB2, Oracle, SQL Server.

o Knowledge of middleware such as Mulesoft and WebMethods.

o Familiarity with Windows & Unix server technologies.

o Proficiency in development languages/platforms such as .NET, Java, and Microsoft Office.

Salary

Dowstate NY: $173,000 - $204,000/year

Massachusetts: $162,000 - $191,000/year

Upstate NY: $145,000 - $170,000/year

Salary depends on experience and location.
