As a Principal Embedded Software Engineer at Precision Optical Technologies, you will focus on developing our OpenPath Passive Optical Network system, including gathering requirements, defining system functionality, and coding in various languages. This onsite role is based in Rochester, NY, reporting directly to the Technical Director of Software Engineering.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, with 10+ years of experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages, with strong programming skills.
• Experience with Linux, object-oriented programming, and abstraction layers.
• Knowledge of networking, Netconf, and integration with third-party libraries and hardware.
• Familiarity with development tools, databases, and software methodologies.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and engage with clients.
• Strong foundation in computer science principles.

Compensation ranges from $150,000 to $200,000, plus benefits and incentives.
