As a Principal Engineer at Candid Health, you'll play a pivotal role in our mission to revolutionize healthcare billing by guiding the technical direction of the company. As one of our most senior engineering leaders, the ideal candidate should possess a blend of excellent technical judgment and deep engineering knowledge (both breadth and depth). We seek an architect and hands-on builder capable of constructing complex systems at scale and delivering significant business impact through simple solutions to challenging problems.

The right candidate is also a visionary and business leader, with a deep understanding of the domain and technology to identify blind spots and new business opportunities. You will dive into complex issues like medical billing, explore innovative approaches, and think big about reinventing systems with the customer in mind. Additionally, mentoring and developing the team will be a core part of your role, inspiring and empowering colleagues to maximize their impact.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in building complex, large-scale software systems.
• Mastery in software development, systems design, and architecture.
• Deep understanding of data-driven solutions and distributed systems.
• Strong technical vision, capable of designing enduring, scalable architectures.
• Proven success in driving business outcomes through technical initiatives.
• Experience managing ambiguity and delivering results in complex scenarios.
• Customer-focused mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for teaching.
• Experience with technologies like Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, PostgreSQL, Terraform, Python is a plus.

The estimated starting salary range is $238,000 to $322,000 USD annually, with potential for additional compensation including equity and benefits. Actual salary may vary based on experience, skills, and other factors.
