Job Description: Position Description: Creates a platform that facilitates developers to build and deploy applications using Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. Automates operational tasks using microservices architecture on Docker swarm and Kubernetes infrastructure. Designs and implements applications with robust fault tolerant mechanisms, disaster recovery planning, elasticity, and scalability. Determines performance metrics using monitoring and observability tools (Splunk and Datadog). Creates accelerators using Java and Python languages. Migrates and tunes Cloud-based applications in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure. Builds and improves standard methodologies for performance, load, stress, and chaos testing, along with analytics and reports based on business requirements. Primary Responsibilities:
- Develops, maintains and monitors platforms used by Developers and observability dashboards.
- Designs and implements new cloud architecture solutions.
- Supports performance engineering functions across the business unit.
- Solves complex performance and stability issues.
- Establishes and enhances application performance testing framework and infrastructure.
- Provides actionable metrics/reports to identify performance bottlenecks/issues.
- Triages defects with development partners and project management teams.
- Provides performance tuning recommendations to development teams.
- Coordinates the adoption of new tools and processes within the team.
- Collaborates with engineers or software developers to select appropriate design solutions or ensure the compatibility of system components.
- Mentors and guides junior engineers within the team.
- Evaluates current or emerging technologies to consider factors such as cost, portability, compatibility, or usability.
- Evaluates existing systems to determine effectiveness and suggest changes to meet organizational requirements.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Site Reliability Engineer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing container and Cloud-based platform products and infrastructure solutions within a financial services environment. Or, alternatively, Master's degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Site Reliability Engineer (or closely related occupation) designing and developing container and Cloud-based platform products and infrastructure solutions within a financial services environment. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess:
- Demonstrated Expertise ( DE ) designing container security integration patterns and procedures for Cloud (AWS and Azure) using Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) tools, Cloud API, Cloud VM Images, Docker, and Kubernetes; and building, testing, migrating, upgrading, and maintaining infrastructure and tools (Windows and Linux) by designing pipelines in UDeploy and Jenkins using Artifactory, Docker, Groovy, and Shell.
- DE migrating infrastructure and applications from On-Prem to AWS Cloud; and automating the provisioning and deployment of infrastructure resources and applications to ensure consistent, reliable, and efficient delivery, using Git and Docker.
- DE implementing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for enterprise applications, using Git, Jenkins, Veracode, Maven, SonarQube, and Terraform; and monitoring applications using Splunk and Datadog.
- DE working on AWS implementation for Cybersecurity, Relational Database Service (RDS), Datadog, ALB, and Route 53 using Cross File Transfer (CFT) and security policies (security groups, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and Git/Stash); creating Lambda functions to trigger resources (S3, Terraform, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail); and building Jenkins jobs to create AWS infrastructure from GitHub repository containing Terraform code.
