Job ResponsibilitiesProvides leadership and management skills necessary to maximize the efforts of teachers and students in an environment conducive to educational enhancement, growth, and achievement. Serves as the administrator of the School for the Blind, supervising and coordinating the work of all assigned professional and classified personnel. Ensures adherence to agency policies, regulations, and goals. Fosters student success by leading the development of a comprehensive educational program for students with visual impairments that enhances teaching and learning. Evaluates educational programs and resources, recommending improvements based on research and data. Coordinates staff training and facilitates collaboration, analysis, and reflection.
Minimum And Additional RequirementsMust possess a Master's Degree and SC Licensure in Elementary/Secondary Principal Tier I or II. Requires at least 3 years of teaching experience, preferably with Blind/Visually Impaired students, and 3 years of educational leadership. SC Licensure in VI or related field is beneficial. May require communication modalities depending on employment placement.
