Itron is transitioning our quality processes to a standardized global Quality Management System and is seeking a Principal Quality Engineer to develop, improve, and support the deployment of standardized quality practices, methodologies, and processes across the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Drive global Quality reporting, KPI, and dashboard definition and reporting.Drive creation of Management Review Presentations with the Global QMS Audit Manager.Complete data interpretation for all Quality System Data; drive global data mining.Define and drive improvement plans across the organization.Implement problem-solving methodologies and preventive actions, monitor KPI performance, and provide training, coaching, and ensure process compliance.Develop and assist in the development of Global QMS processes; own and drive procedure and methodology definition, ensuring deployment and adherence.Ensure the adequacy of Change Control Processes.Provide Quality engineering support ensuring consistent application of quality techniques such as capability studies, tolerancing, and materials-related issues.Conduct process stability and capability studies.Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning activities.Develop Control Plans and FMEA's.Apply statistical techniques and Measurement System Analysis tools.Effectively communicate and reinforce commitment to quality improvement efforts.Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical discipline.
- 7+ years of Quality Engineering experience.
- Experience in defining and deploying global quality and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in problem resolution methodologies, statistical techniques, Measurement System Analysis tools, Control Plans, and FMEA's, including FMEA, PPAP, gage R&R, and Risk Management.
- Internal Quality Auditor and project management experience.
- Formal training and experience as an Internal Auditor for ISO 9001 system.
- Knowledge of Document and Change Control Processes.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in engineering and manufacturing environments.
- Certified Quality Engineer preferred.
- Experience managing a certified quality management system.
- Experience in large, complex, global organizations, preferably in tech or utilities industries.
Location & Additional Details:
This is a hybrid role with occasional on-site work at Oconee, SC.
