As we launch new technologies and tools that drive future customer experiences, we are looking for a Principal Product Manager-Tech to serve as the Editor-in-Chief of our Knowledge Management program. In this role, you will be responsible for defining our content strategy and developing architecture, infrastructure, and mechanisms to empower teams to create high-quality and effective documentation and other developer-facing artifacts. Bringing a strong passion to help developers build the next generation of customer-facing applications, you will build a Knowledge Management program that will be a critical part of delivering a high-quality developer experience. This position requires experience in writing technical documentation, the ability to learn and understand our technologies, and a relentless commitment to long-term customer outcomes.
Key job responsibilities
Serve as Editor in Chief for all technical content, establishing editorial vision and quality standardsCreate and manage a comprehensive knowledge management/documentation strategy that supports both internal and external developersDefine and continually refine the information architecture and workflow, implementing mechanisms and tools to enable Tech Writers, Engineers, Solutions Architects, and Evangelists to generate contentC curate and organize content, establishing and maintaining a clear narrative and unified voice across our documentationRegularly audit content and measure effectivenessShare and evangelize our documentation strategy with key contributors and usersSeek feedback from external developers to continually improve strategy and artifactBASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degreeExperience in technical product management7+ years of technical product or program management experienceExcellent verbal and written communication skills with experience writing, editing, and managing documentationPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancementsExperience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvementExperience leading cross-organizational programs and setting and holding teams and individuals to timelines and deliverables without explicit authorityPassion for helping developers build high quality applications and experiencesAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
