Lilly is currently constructing an advanced manufacturing facility for production of API molecules located in Lebanon, IN. This facility is Lilly's largest investment in manufacturing capacity and is intended to provide APIs for current and future products. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of the leadership team for the startup of a greenfield manufacturing site, and the successful candidate will help to build the organization, the facility, and the culture to enable a successful startup into GMP manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

As a Process Control and Automation Engineer (I&C), you will be responsible for providing continuous support to automation platforms. This includes troubleshooting process interruptions, diagnostics of field devices, communication issues, and platform security events. You will also support and contribute your technical expertise to enhance automation system performance and operability.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:
  • Safety – Work safely, seek improvements in personnel and equipment safety, ensure safe design and operation of new equipment, and reflect safety concerns in automation design.
  • Automation/Control Discipline
  • Partner with colleagues to support and enhance automated systems and equipment.
  • Perform solution assessments and performance reviews to verify proper operation of automated systems.
  • Support the discipline through solution development, replication, and improvement.
  • Manage tools, implement engineering standards, and adopt best practices.
  • Provide technical coaching and facilitate shared learning forums.
  • Support projects and the integration of new equipment/technologies into manufacturing workflows.
  • Technology and Innovation – Stay current on external trends and evaluate new technologies for application within Lilly.
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Technology, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in industrial equipment control, API manufacturing process control, utilities automation, or environmental control systems
  • Experience troubleshooting instrumentation and control integrations
  • Strong problem-solving skills in measurements, control systems, integration, and data
Additional Skills/Preferences:
  • Demonstrated ability to work safely
  • Experience with automation platforms, preferably Delta-V and Rockwell Automation Systems
  • Knowledge of sensing field instrumentation and transducing instrumentation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of GMPs and pharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Operating Systems

Compensation for this position ranges from $64,500 to $143,000, depending on education, experience, skills, and location. Full-time employees are eligible for bonuses, benefits, 401(k), pension, vacation, health benefits, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, and well-being programs. Lilly reserves the right to modify these programs at its discretion.
