Job Description:

Ignite is currently seeking a driven, detail-oriented Principal Missile Defense System Requirements Engineer to join our team supporting the Missile Defense Agency's System Design and Specification Directorate in Huntsville, AL. This position is expected to be onsite. This position will support the implementation and execution of a disciplined systems engineering process to produce System-level technical documents necessary to establish the basis for MDA Program Office subsystem engineering.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide support to the development, management, and planning for current and future missile defense capabilities.
  • Provide senior-level support to the definition, management, and execution of requirements traceability; allocation of MDA Technical Core Standards adherence planning.
  • Provide leadership of the MDA Engineering Requirements Group.
  • Foster collaborative engineering technical interchanges across the MDA engineering community for requirements development.

    • Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a STEM field with a minimum of 12+ years of experience.
  • Technical expertise supporting government and contracting staff in systems and digital engineering.
  • Experience in MBSE tools (CAMEO), principles, and methodologies for development, requirements, design, and analysis of architectures in complex DoD projects.
  • Experience in the development, management, and planning for current and future capabilities as they relate to missile defense, specifically related to the functional portion of the system.
  • Experience in reviewing, analyzing, and providing recommendations on the development, addition, variances, and changes to functional requirements as well as providing quality checks on technical documentation and products.
  • Senior-level experience in document development, presentations, change requests, and other engineering products.
  • Experience with interacting and supporting high-level government customers (Senior NH-4 director-level and above).
  • Understanding of Industry/DoD engineering best practices.

    • Desired Qualifications:

  • INCOSE CSEP or ESEP certification.
  • Knowledge of MDA systems engineering processes.
  • Knowledge of ballistic, cruise, and hypersonic missile defense fundamentals.

    • Security Clearance Requirements:

    Must have an active Secret Security Clearance.

    Other Requirements:

    Must be a US citizen and be able to obtain and hold an active Security Clearance.
