The Principal Gifts Officer leads the development and execution of a strategic plan to secure investments of $1,000,000 and above to support the mission and vision of FIU and advance the campaign priorities within the institutional strategic plan. The position requires experience and expertise in building relationships with high-capacity donors and prospects.
Working with the Division of University Advancement's senior leadership and collaborating with university academic and administrative leaders, the Principal Gifts Officer will serve as the lead facilitator and manager. They will engage and respond to these individuals as partners, aligning their interests and expertise with the University's mission and strategic plan.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on fundraising strategy and execution for principal donors capable of engaging with the University at $1M+.Collaborate with university leadership to identify, cultivate, and engage donor prospects capable of making principal-level gifts. Lead all cultivation and solicitation activities.Support leadership volunteers in their efforts to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward principal gift donors, utilizing staff, volunteers, and stakeholders to close significant gifts.Develop strategies for cultivating and soliciting the University's most generous donors. Manage relationships involving university administrators and faculty, facilitating communication and promoting positive relations.Manage a portfolio of 50-60 principal gift prospects, leading complex gift solicitations and negotiations to secure major commitments.Evaluate gift opportunities and recommend suitable giving vehicles for donors.Strategize, plan, and evaluate the principal gifts program, developing performance metrics and targets, including personal visits, stewardship, and solicitations.Achieve annual personal contact and fundraising goals, monitoring progress and reporting regularly to senior leadership.Provide strategic advice on campaign and development issues, participating in goal setting for long-term fundraising.Attend development meetings and collaborate with internal partners to formulate engagement strategies and identify potential high-level donors.Lead efforts to develop strategies for prospects shared across multiple units, facilitating action plans and monitoring implementation.Implement policies and procedures for fundraising activities, documenting contacts and prospect moves in Raiser's Edge, adhering to university guidelines.Prepare proposals and personalized recognition materials for donors, collaborating with relevant departments.Develop and implement a travel schedule to meet with prospects and donors, aligned with strategic goals and in consultation with senior leadership.#J-18808-Ljbffr
